Big Build- Romania 09.
The build which lasted five days was in aid of Romanian orphans. For years these youths have been living in crammed single-room apartments without decency and respect that comes with a clean and safe home. Some of these young people have started their own families, creating an even larger housing need.
The build was a great success with Ian Paisley Jr showing up to lend a hand. He states “ The challenge is significant and I am more than honored to have been asked to help this very important charity out with really practical work. Helping to build these houses will hopefully be the starting point for families to build new homes and lives together. “What a positive message is being sent out to a country and a people that so many of us would travel to Romania and help in a practical and significant way so that new homes could be provided for those who have been neglected. At a time when the news is too often filled with negatives stories about those from different cultures and backgrounds I believe this is a really positive story about the people of Northern Ireland helping our neighbours.”
We wish to thank Habitat for Humnanity Northern Ireland for inviting us on this trip and look forward to building with them again in the future.
