Set up a Habitat Society
Have you been on a trip with Habitat for Humanity Ireland? Are you a student?
Be one of the first in your university or college to set up a Habitat for Humanity Society. It is a great way to stay in touch with Habitat and to make friends with people who have the same interests as you!
Steps to setting up a Habitat society in your university*:
- Gather a group of like minded students who are interested in Habitat’s aims
- Appoint an auditor, a treasurer and one other committee member
- Draw up a Constitution
- Collect 50-100 signatures of students who wish to see the society set up
- Write up an application and pass it by the society recognition committee
- If the application is passed, your Habitat society will exist on a probationary basis.
- Once this time has passed your Habitat society will be fully authorised with voting rights and eligibility for grants.
