Gingerbread House Challenge!

Join our festive fundraising challenge! Build hope as you build a gingerbread house and raise funds, which will help more children have a safe place to live.

Everyone, everywhere needs a place to call home.

Every day, Habitat for Humanity works beside families to build, renovate or repair their home in 70 countries around the world.

Simple homes save lives. Families are healthier, children do better in school and parents have a chance to earn a stable income.

Habitat advocates to improve access to affordable shelter and support funding models that enable families with limited resources make vital improvements to their homes.

This Christmas- be a part of this life-changing work & raise funds so that families like Anna’s (below) can stay safe during these difficult times.

Taking part is simple, plan your challenge at home with family, socially distanced with colleagues at work or go online for a competition with your friends; community group; church or youth group. Our challenge promises a feast of festive fundraising fun!

If baking’s not for you, head down to your local supermarket, grab a ready-made kit and just do the fun decorating bit.

Sign up to bake it, make it, decorate it & get festive fundraising with the Gingerbread House Challenge.

Don’t forget to share your photos and videos on social media & encourage others to get involved! Tag us @habitatforhumanityireland or #habitatgingerbreadbuild.

Anna’s Story

Children like Anna Nampemba, aged 9 from Zambia, deserve to be able to sleep safe at night.

Anna’s Mum Rudith was constantly worried for her children, living in a home with a door that didn’t lock and a roof that leaked when it rained.

Anna and her family moved into their new Habitat home in Kabwe, where they can stay safe, be healthier and look toward the future.
