ReStore Development Manager



RESPONSIBLE TO:        Chief Executive

LOCATION:                      Lisburn based, travel throughout Ireland

SALARY BAND:              £36,371 – £39,571 (NJC Scale PO3 (32-35))

CONTRACT:                     37 ½ hours per week, Permanent contract



Habitat for Humanity Ireland plans to scale Habitat ReStore to communities across Ireland.

The first Habitat ReStores in Europe are delivering real impacts for local people and the wider community in Lisburn, Ballymena, Newry, Newtownards and Drogheda. ReStore, the charity’s social enterprise builds sustainable community and directly tackles poverty here in Ireland. ReStore enables local people to improve their homes for less, provides learning opportunities for volunteers from different abilities and backgrounds, and diverts tons of reusable waste from landfill.

The ReStore Development Manager will support the scaling strategy with responsibility to find, secure and help launch new ReStores as well as to grow and nurture strategic partnerships with companies who donate materials to ReStore.




Key Responsibilities

ReStore Scaling

  • Work with CEO to deliver scaling strategy by identifying suitable locations for ReStore across Ireland
  • Lead on lease negotiations, community consultations and other activity to ensure successful launch of ReStore
  • Plan and help deliver launch programme in collaboration with broader staff team.


  • Work with CEO and ReStore Managers to build strategy for growing Corporate partnerships
  • Represent Habitat for Humanity to the business community at large
  • Attend networking, outreach, and business after-hours events to create donor opportunities, including trade shows and speaking engagements
  • Proactively maintain and further develop existing business relationships and outreach, including visits, requesting referrals, and continually seeking new avenues to enrich these relationships

Business Donations

  • Maintain donor records, keeping interactions updated with new development and activity, including follow and record every touch so that donors continually think of the ReStores for donations
  • Track and submit monthly and quarterly donor metrics and financial reports that illustrate progress and quantify donation value
  • Identify opportunities for in-store business connection events, communicate ideas to and work with store managers to organize and maximize the events that come to fruition
  • Influence the acquisition of the most effective product mix for our stores to reflect business needs, determined by assessing community interest and collaborating with the stores


  • Build and sustain a positive environment of teamwork, integrity, mutual respect, and exceptional morale -lead by example
  • Work collaboratively with the CEO, ReStore Managers, other staff and all stakeholders with the goal of creating a win-win partnership

Public Relations, Marketing and Advertising

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of ReStore marketing plans
  • Contribute to the development of marketing collateral for partnership development

1. Minimum of 3 years’ experience of responsible leadership, with a demonstrable ability to negotiate and accountability for meeting objectives.

2. Sound knowledge of the retail sector and environment.

3. Previous experience in securing commercial property.

4. Sound project management experience; from inception to completion

5. Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, internally and externally, with groups and individuals, and the ability to verbally convey Habitat for Humanity’s work with confidence and credibility.

6. Experience of developing, nurturing and managing relationships with companies and other key stakeholders.

7. Strong computer skills and experience in using Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Teams and Outlook.

8. Valid driving licence and access to a car to undertake duties associated with this role.

1. Relevant commercial property experience and networks

2. Experience of working within social enterprise and/or home improvement retail sector.

3. Strong social media experience for building connections.

4. Practical experience in effective use of CRM database e.g. Salesforce

5. Broad understanding and knowledge of community relations, community regeneration and global development
