President Higgins Celebrates with New Habitat Homeowners
The President of Ireland, Michael D Higgins, today celebrated with two families who are becoming homeowners for the first time with the support of the charity Habitat for Humanity (HFH) Ireland.
The two families will soon be moving into their new homes on Emmet Road, Inchicore which have been renovated by Habitat for Humanity Ireland in partnership with Dublin City Council (DCC). Read more here.

40,000 Haitian Families Served Since Devastating Earthquake
Two years after the devastating earthquake struck Haiti, Irish donations have supported housing organisation, Habitat for Humanity (HFH), to help more than 40,000 families as part of their recovery programme.
HFH aims to help 50,000 families access permanent housing by 2015 and to date its earthquake recovery programme has distributed 24,500 emergency shelter kits, carried out 350 home repairs, built 150 permanent homes and provided transitional and upgradable shelter to 4,000 families. Read more here.

Two charities team up on local independent living project
Two local charities today launched a new partnership with Bank of America Merrill Lynch to renovate a home which will allow people with an intellectual disability to live independently.
The new project, ‘A Brush with Kindness’, involves housing charity Habitat for Humanity Ireland renovating a home in Finglas. The home has recently been acquired by St. Michael’s House, a charity which provides support for people with intellectual disability and their families. Read more here.

Rugby Legends Building Trip to Zambia
After Ireland’s win against Italy this morning, rugby pundit Brent Pope is urging rugby fans to join him and former Irish rugby greats in a home building trip to Zambia with charity Habitat for Humanity Ireland.
Pope will be joined on the trip by former Irish rugby international greats Malcolm O’Kelly, Girvan Dempsey, Bernard Jackman, Paddy Johns, Alan Quinlan, Frankie Sheahan, Paul Wallace, Brian Spillane and Jeremy Davidson and members of the rugby loving public. Read more…

Rugby Pundit and Dragon’s Den Entrepreneur get their hands dirty in Inchicore
Rugby pundit Brent Pope and hit TV show, Dragon’s Den panellist, Bobby Kerr are getting their hands dirty today volunteering with housing charity Habitat for Humanity Ireland.
The pair are helping out the charity’s four home renovation in Inchicore, which aims to help low income families become homeowners, for the first time. Read more…
